Sounding Sanctuaries presents: Ruben Soffner,  Cardboard Lamb, Hannah Pezzack and Pebblle

The inaugural edition of Sounding Sanctuaries presented DJ sets and performances by Ruben Soffner, Cardboard Lamb, Hannah Pezzack and Pebblle. 

This event came about as a response to ‘the sanctuaries we call i,’ a group exhibition consisting of visual work by Athen Kardashian & Nina Mhach Durban, Paula Hernandez Mollison, Olivia de Ruiter, baby reni, and Safae Gounane. The show, co-curated by Sophie Huijbregts and Kelvin Dijk, presented parallel explorations of identity and belonging through methods of cultural layering. The notion of sanctuary as a self-made space, and of the act of looking as having a generative capacity emerged as central themes.

Sounding Sanctuaries extended these ideas from the visual into the aural, inviting a group of sound practitioners to explore self-expression and cultural identity though their own sonic methods of world-building.
