Sounding Sancuaries is an ongoing event series that brings together sound practitioners to explore ideas of agency, belonging and collectivity through sound and listening.

The guiding idea of the series is that of sanctuary as a self-constructed space, and the aim is to provide a space for experimentation for sound practitioners to workshop new pieces or ideas, performing in a setting that invites attention and engagement. Informed by deep listening theory, Sounding Sanctuaries positions the act of listening as generative and as integral to the production of meaning.

Sounding Sanctuaries is run by Sophie Huijbregts, with the help of many fellow thinkers, listeners and friends.
